It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a team that has achieved everything.

It needed up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to deliver her newest gem.

Then best known as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have come from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was out the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last competing nations at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those injuries have postponed plans to retire, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as leader.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
